Great Gift Ideas For The Fashionable Woman


Finding a way to get noticed in the world of fashion design is no easy task, so I was so happy to find out my friend finally was hired with a major fashion house. This was such a big accomplishment I really wanted to make this a special gift for her.

Since fashion was her life, I wanted to get her something to remember this wonderful day and start of her career, but also something that would always be in style. I knew that she was always talking about models and jewelry, so the next time I was at a show with her I took a closer look. Lots of the models wore all different types of charms and charm bracelets, so I finally had my brainstorm as to what to give.

I really wanted to stay with gold charms, but then I noticed how beautiful the silver charms looked as well. There were an amazing number of charms related directly to fashion and design, so I didn’t have any trouble getting together quite a collection.

To really highlight the modeling and runway part of the fashion design industry, my first choice of charms was a pair of very dressy high heeled shoes. I actually found a couple of different styles that were definitely high on the glamorous end.

Since she had spent so much time walking from company to company in her job search, I added silver charms that represented comfortable sandals. Not quite as high fashion, but I know she will know why they are on the bracelet.

Purses and even a great pair of sunglasses made terrific additions to my collection of charms. Each and every charm had some direct ties to fashion and clothing but still looked very much in style.

Hats are another fashion must have, so to the bracelet I added an old fashioned bonnet style as well as an elegant high fashion chapeau. No one can say that the bracelet doesn’t have a bit of old and new design as the theme.

Just to show her that I was always thinking of her, I added two different good luck charms to the collection. I found a very stylized four leaf clover that is a tribute to her Irish heritage, plus I also added a wonderful little wishing well charm. I know she will love this bracelet, plus it will match with anything she may wear no matter where she goes.

The Metallica discography should be enough proof to show that the band is the leader of the pack in the heavy metal genre. For a group that has withstood the ravages of time, you’d think the members had a long history prior to becoming a popular band. The truth though is that, the original members hardly knew each other when they first started. Lars Ulrich got a second member in James Hetfield when the latter answered Ulrich’s advertisement for a jam buddy. The two became the first original members of Metallica in 1981. They later picked Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney for guitar and bass. Cliff Burton however soon took over from McGovney.

It wasn’t smooth sailing for the group at the beginning. Just like other legendary music acts, they initially faced a lot of rejection. They were only able to create their first album under Megaforce Records with borrowed money. Also, band member problems already started to creep in with Mustaine getting booted out for drug use. He was replaced by Kirk Hammett. Mustaine picked himself up and jump started rival band Megadeth.

In 1983, the birth of Metallica merch and CDs became a future vision. It was on this year that they released their first album Kill ‘Em All. Although this initial release did not bring in the money, it did build a loyal fan base for the group. This paved the way for better reception of succeeding albums. Their third release, Master of Puppets in 1986 gave them their first glimpse of rising success with the album reaching gold status.

It was unfortunate that on the year the group first had a taste of excellent album sales they lost Burton in a bus accident. Although the incident jarred the group, they eventually decided to move on and settled on Jason Newsted to fill in Burton’s shoes. It was with him that the group recorded …And Justice for All which was the first of the band’s work to reach a prime spot in the Billboard 200 at number 6. By 2001 however, Newsted decided to leave the band and was replaced by Robert Trujillo.

Trujillo came at an unusual moment in the band’s history. Their eighth album, St. Anger finally took the first spot in the Billboard 200 but it was to be a controversial success because it was the first piece of work that departed dramatically from the band’s signature sound. Critics noticed the lack of guitar solos, focus, differentiated tuning and a slower, rawer pace. This prompted a return to the band’s usual sound in Death Magnetic, their ninth release.

It’s clear that there is no chance that Metallica will fade into oblivion. With nine albums in the Metallica discography, nine Grammy awards, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and more than a hundred million records sold, their legend status has been etched in stone. Machine Head Albums- A Return To Metal Roots


If you’re a collector of heavy metal music tracks, you should consider getting Machine Head albums. The band behind these is widely credited as the pioneers of new wave heavy metal that has swept the US by storm. Unlike other forms of heavy metal, this one espoused by the group seemingly carries extreme brutality. Surprisingly, it took some time for the group to become popular in America.

Vocalist and guitar player Rob Flynn is given credit for organizing the band in 1992 in California. He was already playing for Vio-lence when he decided he wanted a new band. The urge was rooted in the fact that he was not fulfilled with the kind of work and music generated by Vio-lence. Adam Duce, joined him shortly and they contacted Tony Constanza and Logan Mader to play with them.

The band inked a deal first with Roadrunner Records. Constanza however decided to leave even before they could complete recording of the first album. Chris Kontos was recruited and Burn My Eyes was completed in 1994. Roadrunner sold thousands of copies and the album is considered to be one of the music company’s best sellers. It was not however, so warmly received in the US.

Following the commercial success of the first Machine Head album, they pushed out their second album, The More Things Change… in 1997. It was a little after this development and during the Ozzfest tour that line up problems started to come in anew. Mader quit while still touring and Ahrue Luster took over.

Taking a new member onboard coincided with a seeming direction change for the group. This became apparent in their third release, The Burning Red. The work featured elements of rap which came as a surprise to metal and goth clothing traditionalists. The change was not met positively mainly because critics thought the group was trying to improve their popularity by sounding more like other popular mainstream bands. The official word though is that the changes were more a result of a natural evolution that signified fewer style restrictions.

The fourth album, Supercharged, which was released in 2001, carried similar rap vocals as its predecessor. The work did not sell as well as their previous releases. This was perhaps because the band went through issues with its label. The rift stemmed mainly from the Crashing Around You single from the album. Its video featured burning and crashing buildings. The release was badly timed because it was shown only a couple of days after the September 11 attacks. In the following year, Luster left and was eventually replaced by Phil Demmel.

The bad video release timing is probably the worst that has happened to the group. Considering what has happened to other bands, this was not too devastating. The band was able to get back on its feet with the 2003 release of Through the Ashes of Empires and the 2007 release of The Blackening. This last one was so well received that it came in at the 53rd spot of the Billboard 200.

Undoubtedly, The Blackening proved to be a lucky charm of sorts. This Machine Head album finally earned for the band a Grammy nomination and more Machine Head merch sales.

Forgiveness is not a moral position. It isn’t about the rightness or wrongness of anything. Forgiveness is releasing those pains, slights, abuses, bitterness, grudges, and making space for what you DO desire to show up. Morality has nothing to do with forgiveness.
