Rihanna New Album “Talk That Talk”

Rihanna’s latest instalment, ‘Talk That Talk ‘ has indeed amassed a spectrum of evaluative discord, from one extreme to another. It appears that we are among a public dichotomy “it’s bloody stirring! Unsurprisingly, many love it and have their faith, certainly restored. But more intriguingly, a lot of consider it to be the worst album she has ever assembled! For me individually, I suspect the record isn’t her best exhibition, lacking the tempting riffs of previous conquests, i.e. ‘Rated R’; none-the-bleedin’-less, I do believe it ensues onto a cutting edge bi-lateral quite cunningly.

I was very much predicting her new single, ‘We Found Love ‘ (Ft Calvin Harris), to something unmarked and notable, however once facing the music, I finished up discontented by its monotony. The single was rather unfit, bizarrely trained and obedient… Let me explain. Perhaps I was intuiting something foreign and unfamiliar “something you’d most likely imagine from a Barbadian/Scottish company – however this was not the musical trialling I wished for, rather like the 2 states allied and its bitter litter: a battered-mango “wide of the mark. I would not be in any enthusiastic scurry to purchase this single, and I splash out on just about the majority of Rihanna’s collection. The hype should definitely decline as honestly, this partnership was weak.

As fans of Rihanna’s music, it is reasonably hard to admit that she has made a mixture between a typical and a bad album. It feels like they’ve just chucked all the surplus songs from her last album together, to create a newish record. I say this just because it feels like there hasn’t been any expansion, change or maturity in sound. Actually it’s as if she has totally transgressed, like there wasn’t any authentic inspiration or little legitimacy to the overall story. Illustratively, there are some pretty horrible songs on this record including ‘Birthday Cake ‘ and ‘Cockiness (Love It) ‘. Both these bluntly sound like a muddle, the beats are all over the block and both truly should be chopped or at least skipped through at the midpoint. I feel as if the production simply frisbee’d 1 or 2 beats around and crossed their company fingers that it would sound at least, listenable (worthwhile).

However I shall concede, not all is dreadful. Title track, ‘Talk That Talk ‘ (Ft Jay Z) is the much needed redemption I actually took relief from. The definitive Rihanna and Jay Z escapades are what you would expect, enhanced by its fortified sound, class production and Rihanna’s echoing vocals. ‘Roc Me Out ‘, ‘Drunk On Love ‘ and ‘Fool In Love ‘, I would say are the more middle-weight affairs, amassing predictable amiability with jovial tonality. Frankly, this Bajan package of gorgeousness, has a vocal still alarming and the album duly depicts this; in spite of most of the tunes holding a pretty generic rhythm and reasonably forgettable tunes. However, it actually does feel as if Rihanna has been led astray as it appears hasty and rather occasionally. Maybe she ought to have waited a short while longer before she brought this one out.

Or perhaps now’s the time for Rihanna to leap off the musical treadmill, put those wonderful feet up and get the tea rolling. This album definitely got the cynics speaking ‘…That Talk ‘, however the former success of ‘Loud ‘, it definitely wasn't. Allegedly, she compromised that luxurious language which previously registered; BUT an amalgam of rebellious sexual virility; limitless vivacity beautifully dovetailed with glistening talent, it sure as hell is!
