Golden Ratio 101

Feng shui experts know how important the golden ratio is in their feng shui practice. This is primarily because it inserts the idea of perfection and the balance of shapes sizes.

And as we all know, feng shui is based on a principle that searches for harmony between people and the environment they are residing in. Feng shui involves the art of determining the elements that are present in the environment and their energy flow. They say that if one desires to be successful and blessed with good fortune, he should first become synchronized with his environment’s energy flow.

This is when the feng shui principles and practices come into play. The small things that feng shui practitioners do is an attempt to achieve balance between them and their surroundings.

The surroundings that humans live in usually become imbalanced because of the way he arranges things in it. Feng shui experts suggest that all of the things around us has an affinity with one of the five feng shui elements. And one wrong movement of these elements can cause great disruptions in your home’s energy flow.

Feng shui guidelines are basically the means that can be used for us to maintain the balance in the energy flow of our homes.

Most of us don’t notice it but the golden ratio is always present in these guidelines. Actually, the golden ratio can even be considered as a constant i feng shui because natural things abide by it.

If you look around you, you will notice that we are living in an environment composed of natural shapes and elements. The standard of the golden ratio can also be combined with other things aside from feng shui. You can easily spot it in the figures that compose natural objects and man made items.

Euclid is the one who discovered the golden ratio system. It provides a number value that implies that there is an arithmetical relevance that would eventually appear as a constant. The golden value is most commonly known as the phi value. It plays a major role when it comes to the calculation of the basic math shapes and other geometrically related elements.

The golden ratio is widely used by a lot of architects who base their designs on feng shui. This is used in building homes and other infrastructures including sky scrapers and business buildings.

Architects tend to mix feng shui with modern techniques with the use of the golden ratio in different architectural elements like columns, windows, pillars, partitions, overtures and other design elements.

This is probably why a lot of modern buildings nowadays bear the standards of the golden ratio.

Aside from their architectural application the concept of the golden ratio is also widely used by feng shui experts. This can be seen whenever they manipulate things in the home like the vases, coins, wind chimes, flower pots, fountains and other regular ornaments or feng shui cures. They arrange this in a fashion that follows the concept of attaining balance in an environment.

It’s quite laughable how we fail to recognize this mathematical influence despite being present in the things around us.
