Take it from me, who suffered divorce after 22 years of marriage, even under the best of circumstances, the emotional and financial toll of divorce is overwhelming. When children are involved the effects are even more devastating. While my ex husband and I finally moved on to very fulfilling relationships, it would have been a lot easier in the long run to have fixed the problems in our marriage than to simply end it and start over. So here’s what research and experience have taught me and many others in our situation.
Stop Fixating on Your Problems
Obviously serious problems such as abuse, addiction and infidelity need to be confronted. Serious iisues such as these are not going to just go away and they are “deal breakers” in most relationships. But these types of srious concerns are responsible for only a small fraction of divorces. Most relationships have simply just deteriorated over time. Bickering, taking eachother for granted, lack of intimacy, constant arguing, not being “in love” with the other person anymore. So what happens when youdecide to go to marriage counseling? You focus on your problems! These problems do need to be addressed, but not when your marriage is in “crisis mode”. When your marriage is starting to deteriorate the most imnportant thing to do is focus on the areas that made you fall in love in the first place. Try to reconnect by having fun with your spouse. Stop complaining to your partner, your parents, your co-workers and your friends about your relationship issues. Instead focus on telling your spouse at least one thing that you appreciate about them every day. Start listing of all your happy memories together and make discussing and trying to recreate those the focus. This should start to the energy in your relationship into a more positive direction.
Start Touching

You have an uneasy feeling that everything is not well with your relationship. He seems remote…. He spends little time with you and when he is with you, you tend to fight. But when you imagine life without your guy you find yourself heartbroken at such a prospect. Your hearts joy is that this man is an important component to the happy running of your life. So how do you put a halt to a looming breakup?
1. Appraise your marriage! And be candid with yourself, as you cannot resolve what you cannot admit. In order to stop a break up you need to identify what you irritate each other about. What things do you bicker about? When you look deep into your heart what do you see as your attitude toward him? Do you feel that he doesn’t do enough around the houehold tasks or for you or the children? Have you stopped appreciating him? Do you apply most of your emotional and speaking energy into making him a better man by trying to “help him” improve himself? Is your key agenda to change-him-into-what-you-want or into all that he can become?
2. Stop talking him into change! Of course…. you see all his faults clearly and if he just changed this or that small thing he would come through as so much smarter. Although we see real consistencies between this and that, we’re all linked at the level of energy – at the level of mind.
Your thoughts change your surroundings, and are creative. They’re manifesting reality all the time. The question is: what are you creating? I use the word CREATE in the sense that all thoughts you have are creative “this creative thought has been placed on the stream of being manifested. Based on the focus of your thoughts. So we know from discoveries in new physics that all objects are fundamentally energy and your thoughts manifest.

That power sees you. You are fundamentally linked with your Source. And we all was born into this physical reality with Free Will. Because your Source/God/the Universe sees you and adores you, and because you have the will to make choices, it would never go against your choices or preferences. Further, it has no judgments whatsoever concerning what you’re putting your attention on or what you currently desire. Rather, it steadfastly aligns with what you are vibrationally transmitting.
