It’s that time of year when we need to start thinking about the Christmas shopping. If you make a start nice and early, well in November, you’ll find that by December you’re all wrapped and ready to go. This time of year is also famous for chaotic shopping centers and horrible weather. If you are thinking about braving the crowds here’s a few simple tips to make it a little easier.
If you’re after something specialist for a sport or hobby go to a store that specialises in it. For example if you’re looking for a surfboard finding a shop that specialises in surfboards means you’re more likely to get some expert help rather than a generic sports store. After all you don’t really want to be looking round a store you don’t understand when you’re pressed for time.
There’s no pressure to get all your gifts sorted in one day. There’s still plenty of time so take it easy and take your time. If you have one, take your MP3 player with you and have something soothing to listen to. Having to listen to the same Christmas songs over and over again will drive you crazy. So will screaming kids when you’re trying to find those perfect slippers for your mother in law.
If you’ve got the budget it always helps to have a stash of emergency presents. Things like Hoddies for teenagers and bath salts for aunts and friends always come in handy. If you look around you’ll notice things like chocs and alcohol are always on special offer so grab some of these too. Every year you get at least one present from someone you completely forgot about.
When you’re shopping trip is over make sure you’re got a treat on hand. Something like one of the smaller boxes of chocolates or a nice glass of wine should do it. Your forward planning and organisation, not to mention your feet, need to be congratulated for the work you’ve done.
