Looking for the perfect Helen Ga. hotel? Here is one of a few of my absolute favorites. It’s called Hofbrau Riverfront Hotel. This is one of a few perfect hotels to stay in when visiting Helen Ga.
The exterior has a design of an early seventies small ma and pop hotel, and the interiors though always spotlessly clean have an older mid seventies dcor. Nuthin fancy here…
The dcor alone make this small hotel a delight. The dcor is set just right creating the feel of staying in an old-fashioned mountain inn.
You have several room choices ranging from a room in one of the two story buildings that over look the river, a room in one of the single story buildings that over looks the river, or a room in one of the two story buildings that over looks the town of Helen Ga.
I always opt one of the rooms in the one story section that overlooks the cascading Chattahoochee River. The best part about these rooms, is that especially if your into trout fishing, is that you can walk right out of the back door of your room, and within a few steps, your right in a nice trout stream stocked full of rainbow trout.
And just for a inside hint, there is a bridge right next to the Hofbrau Riverside Inn, and the department of Natural Resources regularly stock good size rainbow trout right off of this bridge. So just down stream from this bridge is definitely what us avid trout anglers would call a honey hole.
Also with the rooms located in the one story building, you have a nice concrete well shaded patio overlooking the Chattahoochee River, fully equipped with grills for cooking those fresh trout you just caught, and nice picnic tables with colorful umbrellas making for a perfect place to enjoy a cookout.
One of the nicest things about this Helen Ga. Hotel is its locality. This hotel is within a short walking distance from the main shopping district of Helen Ga. This give the visitor quick access to all the shops, tubing, restaurants, and attractions available in Helen Ga.
Hofbrau Hotel always has a crisp clean swimming pool open for their visitors enjoyment with plenty of poolside chairs for lounging, and even some grills should you decide to have your cookout beside the swimming pool.
If getting up in the morning and rushing out for a nice hot country breakfast is the key to get your blood flowing before you begin your Helen Ga. adventures, you’re in luck at this hotel. The Hofbaru Riverside Inn is located almost directly across the street from the Helen Country Caf, which serves up a mean country style breakfast with anything from eggs, omelets, big cathead country biscuits with a variety of meat choices from sausage, to ham, to red links, you name it, they got it. This little caf also has some of the best sweet tea a southerner could ask for. And to add to the charm of this nice little breakfast caf, they also have outdoor patio dining available.
Another staple convenience just down the road from this hotel is the famous Betty’s Country Store. This country store has been around since the seventies, and to this day continues to serve up just about anything a Helen Ga. visitor could need. They have fresh meats, vegetables, fishing gear and bait, awesome fresh made deli sandwiches, as well as standard grocery items such as milk, eggs, canned goods, charcoal, and frozen foods. Anyone who visit Helen Ga. needs to visit this store just for the atmosphere which includes walls lined with mountain folk art, and even has a full section of books specifically geared towards mountain folklore, North Ga. Mountain info., as well as mountain folk recipe books.
So if you’re looking for that perfect spot where you can just park your car for your entire visit, and take part in all the great shopping, dining, sight seeing, and fishing opportunities available in Helen, Ga., then take a look at Hofbrau Riverside Hotel.
