At Alexander Del Rossa, we’ve been selling bathrobes for over fifty years and have helped hundreds of thousands of customers find the perfect bathrobe. When purchasing a bathrobe for yourself or as a gift for someone special, its best to keep in mind the following three questions:
1. When and where will you be wearing your bathrobe?
2. How often do you plan to wear your bathrobe?
3. What is your budget?
The first and perhaps most important questions you’ll need to ask yourself before purchasing a bathrobe is when do you plan to wear the robe? Will you be wearing the bathrobe when you come out of the shower or will you be wearing the bathrobe to go out and get the morning paper on a chilly fall morning? Will you be wearing the bathrobe during the winter or around the pool or spa in the spring or summer? These are important questions to ask because they’ll help you choose what type of fabric you’ll want to purchase your bathrobe in.
Generally, for bathroom or pool use, its best to choose a terry cotton bathrobe because of the high water absorbtion qualities of terry cotton. Terry cotton comes in a variety of thicknesses so you’ll also want to keep in mind how heavy or light you want the bathrobe to be depending upon if you choose to wear the bathrobe during winter months or around the pool or spa on spring or summer days.
If water absorbtion isn’t a necessary quality of your bathrobe and you live in a cooler climate with cold fall and winter months, a great choice is a micro fleece bathrobe. Certain types of fleece can be water absorbant also, so you’ll want to read the description carefully, but fleece is mainly known for its incredibly soft and thick feel while at the same time being very lightweight. Thick terry cotton bathrobes cannot match the lightweight fleece robes in either ease of use because of fleece’s lightweight feel or warmth because of fleece’s high heat insulating properties.
Putting a little thought into purchasing the right bathrobe for your personal use can go along way in getting yourself a robe that you’re truly happy with and you’ll be happy to wear. Quality bathrobes can cost upwards of $75+, so its time and money well spent if you’re well prepared. Knowing your fabric choices ahead of time can help you make the right choice the first time.
