The pocket watch was wound and set by simply opening the back of the watch and then fitting a special key to the square arbour and then turning it. Long ago, when male wristwatches ever became famous, men were simply content with the pocket watch and others even promised to themselves not to wear a wristwatch – the probable reason why the pocket watch stayed for a long time.
